The ninth annual Moyamoya Disease Fundraiser will be held this year on June 18 at 3 Muskett Lane in Walpole.

The fundraiser will kick off with a 5K run and walk starting at 9:30 a.m. After the 5K, the 3v3 basketball tournament will be held for middle and high school students at 12 p.m.

The Moyamoya Fundraiser was started nine years ago by Walpole resident Justin Doo. Doo was diagnosed with Moyamoya Disease, a rare vascular disorder that causes blocked arteries in the brain.

At this year’s fundraiser, there will be a number of other activities in addition to the 5K and basketball tournament, including a dunk tank, balloon raffles, an online auction and concessions.

All money raised at the fundraiser will be donated to organizations to help support Moyamoya research.
