Last Sunday, Walpole locals flocked together on West street to support women owned businesses for the first annual Women Entrepreneur Market.
Twenty-five different businesses owned by female entrepreneurs set up tables to display their handcrafted products. Several groups of people ventured through the venue to view and purchase the various products offered. Some of the products included, pottery, soaps, wax melts, sun glasses, clothing, jewelry, sweaters, bags, body mists, hats, cups, tumblers, tarot readings, and baked goods.
The market was hosted by Mirna Nova. “This is my first women’s market ever. I wanted to host a women’s market in honor of my first year in business. I think it is a great thing to support women owned businesses,” Nova shared enthusiastically.
All of the businesses supported one another through buying each other's products, signing up for mailing lists, following one another on social media, and introducing each other to family members and friends who might be interested in their products.
All of the business owners were proud to tell the stories of their companies and their product creation. Nova worked hard to promote this event, as well as the businesses that attended this market. It was plain to see that she was a very strong supporter of all of these women and felt gratitude for their support through their participation in the women’s market.
“I think the best part of the market is making connections and supporting each other's businesses. You meet people you wouldn’t meet otherwise from all walks of life,” Ileana Arias, a business owner, stated.
The sight of seeing women supporting women in their business endeavors was truly inspiring. This support greatly contributed to the success these business owners had at the women’s market.
