On Saturday, May 11, the town of Walpole held its annual and beloved Walpole Day. From 11am to 3pm Stone Field was filled with families, a variety of vendors, and fun to be had!

When the annual event kicked off at 11am, so did the Walpole Day Parade. Parade participants included: All Nations Worship Center, American Heritage Girls Troop, Be Inclusive, Inc., Best Healthcare Home Services LLC, Blessed Sacrament School, Elm Street School 5th Grade, Field Martial Arts, Golden Opportunities for Independence (G.O.F.I.), Green Energy Mechanical, Harney Academy of Irish Dance, Impact Martial Arts, JWCW, Michael J. Connolly & Sons, M.J. McKernan, Mosquito Joe, New Pond Village, Norfolk County Sheriff, Sea Cadets- Squadron7 Zulu, Shamrock Overhead Door, Southridge Farm and Nursery, Trail Life USA, Union Congregational Church, Walpole Media, Walpole Middle School Track & Cross Country, Walpole Robotics “Timberwolves,” and Walpole Youth Girls Lacrosse. Several of these parade participants also had vendor booths on Stone Field for guests to come visit and chat about their organizations.

Attendees were welcomed to walk around and visit the vendor tables to chat with business owners and local groups, such as Walpole Veterans Service Committee, Walpole Lions Club, and the Walpole Council on Aging, just to name a few.

Each vendor booth offered friendly personalities, activities for children, and some opportunities to shop. Each vendor was happy to share their story of their business or organization with fellow Walpole residents.

Walpole Day provided a Kidz Zone area for children to meet up with their friends and neighbors to play on a variety of inflatables, try their hand at a giant game of ring toss, take a train ride with family members, or have their faces painted and transformed into their favorite character. This Kidz Zone offered hours of entertainment to children of all ages who ventured out to celebrate the town of Walpole.

A local ice cream truck, as well as a variety of food trucks, were on site, allowing people to spend the entirety of their afternoon enjoying all that Walpole Day had to offer. All the while, the music of a cover band called The Reminisants filled the air, accompanied by the sounds of laughter and conversation. People of all ages danced to their playful covers of popular artists, including songs by Elvis Presley and Josh Turner.

The Walpole Historical Society provided Historical Trolley Tours at Walpole Day. The one-hour tours depart from the front of Blackburn Hall at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. These tours traverse through Walpole, highlighting historic landmarks and narrating the vibrant history of this beloved Hometown.

Walpole Day concluded at 3pm with the Wacky Quacky Duck Race at Memorial Pond. It was truly an enjoyable afternoon filled with good times, great music, and an incredible array of activities for families of all varieties.
