A Fling at the Fashion Show!

The Junior Woman’s Club of Walpole held their perennially sold-out Spring Fling Fashion Show on Thursday, April 6, at the Tiffany Ballroom of the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Norwood, for the first time since 2019. In that elegant setting, more than 500 chic women enjoyed a three-course dinner and an exciting fashion show featuring DJ Brian Lee and emcee Tom Leyden. Additionally, there were 38 raffle baskets and a special raffle for diamond earrings.

After the cocktail hour, the spirited guests moved to the Tiffany Ballroom for dinner. Electricity, general merriment, and laughter filled the room as the women enjoyed greeting friends and held lively conversations. As dessert arrived, Tom Leyden announced the start of the fashion show, which featured twelve models wearing outfits from Banana Republic and MStyle Boutique.

Upbeat music ushered the models down the runway, cheered on by their friends as they displayed their au courant ensembles, as well as their lively personalities. Casual outfits had current touches, such as chunky boots, unraveled hems, decorative zippers, and flashy shoulder bags. Dressier outfits featured bright green, blue, and pink colors, lace, swaying fringe, flowered patterns, and plunging necklines.

Each of the three runway sessions was followed by drawings of raffle basket winners, saving the most exciting prizes for last. As the raffle ticket numbers were called, winners jumped up from their seats, waving their arms to get the emcee’s attention, while supportive friends clapped in support.

In all, the Spring Fling Fashion Show was a great night out with women friends, celebrating fashion, friends, and fun. All this fun was for a great cause. The show was sponsored by Dedham Savings, and the money raised will benefit the Junior Woman’s Club of Walpole’s General Services Fund, which supports local individuals, programs, and organizations. The club is a volunteer service organization that offers programs and services in the areas of conservation, education, home life, the arts, and international and public affairs.

These are women with a serious purpose and also the know-how to create a highly anticipated, yearly event.
