Senior captain and quarterback Will Jarvis capped off his high school football career with a dominant performance in Walpole High football’s Thanksgiving rivalry match with Weymouth on Thursday.
Jarvis ran for a score, threw for another and snagged a pair of interceptions while on defense to lead the Rebels to a 29-0 victory to close out the 2019 season.
Connor Schlittler gave the Rebels a 7-0 lead towards the end of the first quarter, capping off an eight-minute, 65-yard drive with an 18-yard touchdown run. On the second play of Weymouth’s ensuing series, Jarvis picked off a pass and returned the ball down inside the Weymouth 20. Chris Reilly then doubled Walpole’s lead to 14-0 with an eight-yard touchdown run to give the Rebels a two-touchdown lead at the end of one quarter.
Jarvis would hit fellow senior captain Drew Von Klock for a highlight reel 22-yard touchdown on fourth down that saw Von Klock make a spectacular diving catch in the back of the end zone. With 1:48 remaining in the game, Jarvis capped off his high school career with a 12-yard rushing touchdown to put the Rebels up 29-0 and seal the victory.
