The Medfield girls and boys tennis teams have paved their way through round 32 of the tournament this post-season, after defeating their first round of competition this past week.
The sixth-ranked Med Ten girls carried on their winning streak from their regular season to advance over the 27th-ranked Cardinal Spellman High with a 4-1 win on June first at their home courts. It was a beautiful day for some tennis, as the girls took on their competition.
Third singles Ceci Camm charged up and was ready for the Spellman’s and won both sets 6-1, 6-0, to add a tally on the scoreboard for Medfield. Second singles Amy Boylan and first doubles Mary Palladino and Juliet Lane record the same points as Camm for their own sets each winning their matches 6-1,6-0.
As for the tenth-seeded Medfield Boys Tennis team, they swept their heated matches against the tough 23rd-seeded Ashland Clockers competition on June 2nd. The boys won each match to also follow their own winning streak trailing from the regular season to add to their energetic start to the tournament. The Warriors polished off the competition with a 5-0 win that will take them to round 16 of playoffs.
The girls advanced to play Ashland on home courts Monday 6/5 at 4 pm and the boys traveled to play the Sturgis Charter School West.
