The Needham High co-ed club squash program is in just its second season but has already established itself as one of the top in the country, after the team traveled to Philadelphia in the second week of February and took third place in its division at the national championships.
Needham, coached by Glen Wilson, was also the top public school finisher.
“Congrats on a step up from last season and a nice effort for those who played at High School Nationals, third place was very respectable,” said Wilson in an email to the team after the season.
Wilson added that he has high hopes for next season, as there is the potential for a new Boston Area League for Needham to compete in. With four sophomores qualifying for nationals, the program has plenty of depth returning as well.
