Following the controversy in Medford, Medfield played in the Battle of the Banner Tournament in Dighton, going 6-0 to win the championship while outscoring their opponents 70-6 over the weekend. They were lead by great pitching in the finals on Sunday and 2 home runs each by Jack Goodman, Charlie Walsh and Sam Palmer.
The team continues play in the Suburban Youth Baseball League playoffs. They defeated Dedham in their first playoff game 4-3. The bats were quiet until the bottom of the 5th inning. Down 3-0, Nate Baacke lead off the 5th with a walk and pitcher Ben Sleboda followed with a long two run home run.
After the next batter Matt Donohue was hit by a pitch, catcher Charlie Walsh followed with the second 2 run home run of the inning, giving the Warriors a lead. Sleboda got Dedham in order in the sixth to secure the victory.

Charlie Walsh locks in on a pitch before sending it over the fence for a 2 run homer in Sunday’s Battle for the Banner final.
At time of print, Medfield will play the winner of Braintree and Milton on Tuesday evening in the league quarter-finals.
