Medfield High senior Krissy Rimmel officially signed her National Letter of Intent last week to play Div. I soccer at Sacred Heart University. Rimmel, a midfielder, helped the Warriors reach the Div. 2 South semifinal in each of the past two seasons.
In November, Rimmel joined other Medfield High student-athletes in a ceremony honoring each of their commitments to play at the next level but, due to NCAA regulations, she could not make the decision official until last week.
Sacred Heart is rebuilding after a 4-13 season. Rimmel will join four other Massachusetts players on the roster.
Catholic Memorial senior and Medfield resident Curt Bletzer made his decision to play football at Boston College official last week when he signed his National Letter of Intent in a ceremony at the West Roxbury school.
Bletzer will join his brother Kevin on the Eagles next fall. Kevin just finished his redshirt freshman season at Chestnut Hill.
According to a press release from CM, Bletzer also had offers from the University of Maine, Holy Cross, and Harvard. In an interview with the Hometown Weekly in the fall, Curt noted that he relishes the chance to get back on the field with his brother.
“I think it’s going to be incredible,” he said. “It’s going to be really exciting to not only be playing at Boston College and at the next level but to be on the same field as my brother and to experience that with him.”
