Walpole senior captain and second base-man Charlie Auditore as well as Xaverian captain and ace pitcher Dylan Chapski of Medfield were recently awarded All-Scholastic honors by the Boston Globe following their immense contributions to their teams throughout the 2017 baseball season.
Auditore smacked two home runs and 21 RBI en route to a Bay State Herget Division title for Walpole and earned Herget Division MVP. The senior captain was a mainstay at the keystone for the Rebels throughout the season’s entirety, and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored in Walpole’s first-round win over rival Norwood in the Division I state tournament. A multi-sport star in baseball and football after quarterbacking the WHS football team, Auditore will play baseball at Bentley in the fall.
Chapski, meanwhile, was one of the most feared pitchers in the Catholic Conference in 2017 for Xaverian. The Medfield native accumulated a 1.05 ERA while leading the Hawks to a Super-Eight berth. A multi-sport star in basketball and baseball, Chapski will play baseball at Bowdoin in the fall.
