Traveling for a Saturday afternoon match, Dover-Sherborn boys lacrosse tallied in another second straight win game after battling against their non-league competition, Algonquin High. The boys overpowered Algonquin succeeding them with a 13-12 final score.
The Raiders came out onto the field with high energy making it impossible for Algonquin to fight back against the strong-willed battle of D-S. Dover-Sherborn junior, Max Niit, capitalized his skills over Algonquin’s defense scoring three goals in the first half. Alongside junior Wyatt Pastore, who pocketed another three goals for the Raiders to take home.
Head coach Brian McLaughlin knew the boys had a powerful start to the competition, but felt that Algonquin came back with fiery energy in the second half.
“We try to get non-league games that are against competitive good-coached teams. They did nice coming back in the second half against us. We didn’t compete as hard as we did in the first, the first half we were good at moving around and the offense was flowing but the second half we seemed more stagnant,” said McLaughlin.
The boys will continue their season away in a league match up against the Ashland Clockers on Friday, May 5th, faceoff is set to begin at 4pm.
