Erma Dorothy Garvey

Erma Dorothy Garvey passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, with her sons by her side.

Born in White Pine, Nevada, Erma was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Lee. She graduated from Stewart Indian School in Carson City, Nevada.

Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life, John “Jack” Garvey. The two shared nearly 68 wonderful years of marriage before Jack’s passing.

Together, they enjoyed trying their luck at casinos and traveling across the country to attend pow wows. Erma was a proud member of the Western Ely Shoshone Tribe and deeply cherished her heritage. She loved gardening and was known for her green thumb. Erma was also an accomplished bowler in Natick, where she won many trophies over the years.

Erma is survived by her sons, Kevin and Shawn Garvey; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack Garvey; her daughter, Cheryl; her brother, David; her sister, Marian; and her grandson, John Garvey.

A grave side service will be held Friday May 22, 2026 at 2pm at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.
