Students Paint the School Pink

Monsignor Haddad Middle School in Needham held a Paint the School Pink Day in support of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. For a small donation, students were invited to dress out of uniform as long as they wore pink attire in the spirit of the day. Prizes were awarded for the boy and girl students best representing the cause. Along with the dress down day (known as a “tag day”) students enjoyed a lunchtime bake sale and raffles.

The events were lead by Language Arts teacher Mrs. Jill Curley’s homeroom of 7B and raised $1,100 in just one day.

Paint the School Pink is an annual October tradition at MHMS where service is an integral part of the school identity. Each month, homerooms take turns leading the school in a different service initiative composed of education and fundraising. Past efforts include Hurricane Relief, Pennies for Patients, and Water for Sudan.
