Little ones were in for a musical treat this past Tuesday, January 2nd as Stacey Peasley stopped by the Needham Free Public Library (NFPL) to perform an array of her own songs and dances. With the parking lot packed, the Community Room quickly filled up with kiddos and their parents, grandparents and guardians.

Excitement was surely all in the air for this super fun event, with smiles and happy faces beaming around the room. As soon as Stacey started her performance, all the children were quickly on their feet, singing and dancing along. In awe of their little ones, adults could be seen snapping all sorts of photos and videos of their little one’s, moving and grooving right along with them.

Stacey played some of her top hits, including educational and movement style songs. According to her website, Stacey has been singing and performing for audiences for 32 years now. “After the birth of her child,” her website states, “Stacey began to write songs focused on the amazing things she observed as a new mom. Little did she know, this would develop into a brand new career combining both of her passions – music and working with children. Stacey Peasley has since written and recorded five critically acclaimed albums with awards from Creative Child Magazine, Parents’ Choice Foundation, and NAPPA.”

It was easy to see just how well of a child entertainer Stacey is. She had all the kiddos participate within each song, even asking them questions along the way. While singing her song “Bundle Up” from her newest album Play in My Band!, she would ask each of the little ones how we were wearing each item of clothing, including a hat, gloves, boots, a coat, and more.

Some additional songs that Stacey played were “Snowflake” in which she asks the children to dance like snowflakes, “Penguins” in which everyone waddled around like a penguin on ice, and “The Wheels on the Bus.”

In the joyful atmosphere of Stacey Peasley's delightful performance at the Needham Free Public Library, laughter and music filled the Community Room as little ones and their families reveled in the magical world of song and dance. Peasley's ability to engage children and create an interactive experience was evident, with the room echoing with the sounds of joyous participation. As parents and guardians captured these precious moments with enthusiastic snapshots, the event not only entertained but also created lasting memories. Stacey Peasley's musical journey, spanning over three decades, reflects her passion for combining music and children, evident in her award-winning albums. The library's Community Room became a hub of laughter, learning, and shared experiences, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a musical treat that resonated long after the final notes.
