Recently, seniors and their families were invited to explore the enchanting world of "Reflections," a photo gallery that paid tribute to the cherished memories of Wingate residents. This meticulously curated collection of photographs showcased the essence of poignant and unforgettable moments that had shaped the lives of these residents and their families.

Building B was filled with residents and their family members who had come to view this heartfelt exhibition, eager to learn more about their neighbors and to glimpse their own treasured moments preserved in time.

Jose Soto, the Memory Care Neighborhood Director at Wingate Residences, orchestrated this entire event. Soto provided invaluable assistance to residents and their families in identifying photographs of personal significance. He conducted interviews with the seniors and their family members, weaving together the photographs and the stories attached to them into a beautiful display for all to appreciate. Soto described his work with the residents and their families as an intimate experience, expressing a genuine desire to capture the essence and importance of their stories. "It was a labor of love, that's all I can say," Soto proudly shared. The project took nearly two months to complete. "I love lifting people as much as I can," Soto stated. With over seventeen years of experience working with older adults, he strongly believes in celebrating and appreciating them to the fullest extent. The impressive turnout at this event suggests that many share Soto's sentiment.

Each guest took their time reading the captivating stories encapsulated in this exhibit and meticulously examining the accompanying photographs. The stories were truly remarkable, touching upon themes such as introspection on aging, the evolution of identity throughout our lives, moments of joy, adventures, beloved hobbies, companionship, marriage, memories, and tales of love.

Each display in the exhibit held its own profound significance, vividly illustrating the depth of Soto's dedication to this project and his fervent desire to preserve these memories for the residents. It was a sight to behold as seniors reminisced about earlier times in their lives, providing their families with a meaningful glimpse into their past. This experience undeniably brought everyone closer together, emphasizing the shared realization that these memories are to be cherished and celebrated.
