Nancy Walton’s ‘Through the Trees.’ Walton will be one of more than 30 Needham artists participating in Needham Open Studios during the first weekend of May.

Award winning artist Nancy Motley Walton will be among more than thirty Needham artists participating in the Needham Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7.

A Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society, Juried Member of the Copley Society of Boston, Master Artist of the Cape Cod Art Association and incoming president of the Needham Art Association, Walton’s representational paintings are remarkable for her use of light, often taking the mundane and creating something extraordinary. In both her landscape and still-life paintings, her goal is to touch something deep in the soul of her viewer, triggering the “I’ve been there” response. A watercolor instructor for more than fourteen years in Needham, as well as a third-year teacher at Motherbrook Arts and Community Center in Dedham, Walton will showcase over 100 original watercolors in her Open Studio at 25 May Street, Needham.

As preview to this year’s Open Studios, Walton will be one of several artists demonstrating at Volante Farms on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
