On Tuesday, June 27 at 4:30 p.m., the Needham Free Public Library Children’s Department will host a Simple Machines Workshop led by David Hyde Costello, author and illustrator of popular children’s books.
Costello will give an introduction to the four simple machines: the lever, the pulley, the wheel, and the axle. Participants will have the chance to physically manipulate the models in order to experience mechanical advantage (for example, the difference between a single pulley and a double pulley system). The workshop is designed for children ages 7 and older and registration is required.
