Alison Borrelli of Needham was honored as a member of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women’s 2017 class of Unsung Heroines. Senator Richard Ross of Norfolk, Bristol, and Middlesex districts recommended Mrs. Borrelli for this recognition because of her outstanding commitment to the youth of the community. Mrs. Borrelli was honored by Senator Ross and Representative Garlick with the other Unsung Heroines for her outstanding contributions to the Needham Community in a ceremony on Wednesday, June 21.

Alison Borrelli is a well-respected math teacher at Needham High School and a dedicated volunteer. She led a committee to raise $40K for a 9/11 First Responders Memorial, as well as efforts to raise $185K to improve the Greene’s Field playground. She is the president of the Needham Historical Society, director of the Needham Library Foundation, and member of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Committee. She is also a business owner.

“It is the work of unsung heroines like Alison Borrelli that is the strength of our community,” said Representative Denise Garlick.
