Needham VFW Post 2498 is proud to honor the memory and extraordinary community service of Lennie Hamilton with the dedication of the VFW kitchen in his name — Lennie's Kitchen. He began giving his time to Needham VFW Post 2498 while serving as a Needham police officer. Over more than four decades, Lennie devoted his time, energy, and heart to the Post and the community it serves. For years, he cooked his well-known dinners for veterans and their families, Needham school fundraisers, community organizations, first responders, holiday celebrations, Christmas parties, and countless other events.
On October 17th, we have an opportunity not only to honor what Lennie gave to the VFW, but to continue what he started. The dedication of Lennie's Kitchen will serve as a permanent reminder of his remarkable commitment to service and community. Funds raised in his memory will support Needham VFW Post 2498 and its ongoing efforts to bring veterans, families, and community organizations together.
Lennie understood that the VFW was more than a building. It was a place where people could gather, celebrate, support one another, raise money for important causes, and strengthen their connection to the community. We invite you to be part of preserving Lennie's legacy and helping the Needham VFW continue to be a place where our community comes together — just as Lennie worked so hard to make it for more than 40 years.
