Zullo Gallery hosting fall art classes

Medfield's Zullo Gallery has announced its slate of fall art classes. They are described as follows:

Tuesday evenings 7-9 p.m.
Session 1: Tuesdays, September 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, and 24
Session 2: Tuesdays, November 7, 14, 21, 28, December 5, and 12
$225 per session

All mediums welcome, paint what you love. Individualized attention in a small group setting. Specific instruction to your needs, supportive and helpful group critiques. Some painting experience preferred. Students supply their own materials. Tables and table easels provided.

Session 2: Wednesdays November 1, 8, 15, 29, December 6, and 13 from 9:30 a.m. - noon
$265 per session (plus $25 for instructor-supplied art materials)

In this class, Kim Morin Weineck will introduce students to the medium of pastel. Each class will cover best practices and welcomes beginners and intermediate students. Come and learn why artists have described painting with pastel as painting with light. Kim will start each class with demonstrations and instruction. Students will learn various ways of starting a pastel painting to yield different and exciting results. All aspects of color will be addressed as well as some basics of composition and the elements of making good paintings. At the end of eight weeks students will have the knowledge to confidently create beautiful pastel paintings on their own.

Oil Painting
session 1: Wednesdays September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 9:30 a.m. - noon
session 2: Tuesdays November 7, 14, 21, 28, December 5, and 12 from 9:30 a.m. - noon
$265 per session

Come paint! During this comprehensive six-week course, classes will cover best practices and welcomes beginners and intermediate students. Students will be taught the ins and outs of oil painting from mixing colors to making a mark to capturing the effects of light. Earlier classes will work on specific exercises with demonstrations from the instructor. Later in the session, students are invited to bring in their own references or still life objects as painting subjects.

IMG_2159 copyInstructor Kim Morin Weineck is an artist primarily working in pastel and oil, although proficient in all fine art media. She concentrates on the beauty of making interpretive landscapes. She is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) and a Signature member of her local pastel group the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod PPSCC, Artist member of various art associations and Instructor of the Neponset Valley Artists (NVA), her active atelier. Kim has won numerous awards and her work is in collections in the US and Europe. Her work was highlighted in the Pastel Journal’s vaunted Pastel 100 issue in March 2015. A graduate with distinction from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fine Art 2D, Kim is no stranger to exhibiting her work at Zullo Gallery and has a piece in this year’s Annual Juried Show.
