In Tuscaloosa on June 24, the Association of Gravestone Studies’ (AGS) Board of Trustees, at their Annual Reception and Banquet, awarded Vine Lake Preservation Trust with The 2017 Oakley Certificate of Merit "for the significant care and extensive educational programming" to Medfield's historic Vine Lake Cemetery.
The award consists of a certificate as well as the gift of a book to the Medfield Public Library, in the Trust's name on behalf of AGS.
The Trust is extremely grateful to be honored by this world-renowned organization based in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Its mission is to foster appreciation of the cultural significance of gravestones and burial grounds through their study and preservation.
