Motorists traveling along Route 109 in Millis may have noticed an unusual sight outside a local dental office in recent weeks: a man holding a large, provocative sign making allegations about a dentist and relationships with members of his staff.
The sign has attracted the attention of passing motorists and generated considerable curiosity online, with many wondering what circumstances led to such a public protest.
Some light has now been shed on the story.
A TikTok user posting under the name “Allanaelise” shared a photo of the man and his sign, while commenting on what she imagined must be an interesting backstory. After the post generated a strong response, she returned to the location and interviewed the man about why he has been standing outside the office.
The explanation turned out to be somewhat different from what passersby may have imagined.
The man described himself as a retired dentist who practiced for approximately 40 years in the Natick area. He said his dispute with the Millis dentist stems from a business sale transaction that he believes went bad. His roadside demonstration, he explained, is his way of protesting the dispute.
When asked about the more provocative allegations written on his sign, however, the man did not claim firsthand knowledge. Instead, he said the information had been relayed to him by someone who had heard it from what a third party described as a “reliable source.”
He also explained that the sign evolved during his protest. After displaying an earlier version for several days, he said he received additional information that prompted him to add the second allegation now appearing on the sign.
While the unusual protest has succeeded in attracting plenty of attention along Route 109 and on social media, the allegations displayed on the sign remain unverified.
