For the third year in a row, the Lowell Mason Auditorium at Medfield High was packed for Saturday night’s Miss Amazing Celebration, which is a state pageant that offers girls with disabilities the chance to shine in the spotlight and take the stage for a pageant that showcases their beauty and talents.
The auditorium was packed with friends and family of the 36 girls who participated and although the total amount raised was not available at the time of writing, it was another success for the event, which was brought to Massachusetts three years ago.
Lucy Nealon, who co-directed this year’s event along with Chloe Rogan, said, “It was incredible to see how the event came together. There were 36 girls who came, and every one of them was an inspiration to all.”
Nealon also highlighted the numerous volunteers who worked throughout the day to make the girls feel special - from interviews to style and make-up to wardrobe to walking on stage with the participants and helping them through routines.
“My favorite part of the event was the end of the show, when all the girls were on stage,” said Nealon. “The crowd gave them a standing ovation, and the girls were all shining with happiness.”
“It made me feel so good to know that this event had made them all feel like stars for the day.”
