Medfield Center lit up to host its tenth annual Holiday Stroll. Local businesses turned their stores into holiday markets filled with games, crafts and live music. This annual tradition allows local artisans to sell their art and get the entire town in on the holiday spirit.
Medfield Public Library hosted local vendors and crafts for kids. In the community room a holiday-themed magic show called “Ho Ho Hocus Pocus” took place to entertain young children and their parents. Upstairs in the children's section, several crafts were offered including coloring in gingerbread people to decorate a gingerbread library. Medfield Television was also at the library offering photos with a holiday-themed green screen.
Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the Dwight-Derby House to hear holiday wishes and take photos with families. Children loved getting to meet Santa and tell him what they wanted for the upcoming holidays, before continuing on their stroll through town. The Dwight-Derby House offered candy canes to those who told Santa their wishes, sending children home with a sweet treat.
Halfway through the hours of the stroll MEMO lit up the large tree in Baxter Park. This tradition is beloved in Medfield, the large pine tree will stay light through the holidays. MEMO hosted the gingerbread house competition at Baxter Park as well where visitors got to vote for their favorite elaborately decorated cookie house. Each house was built by Medfield residents and showcased different aspects of the town or popular media.
United Church of Christ, Zullo Gallery and Middlesex Savings Bank hosted more local vendors, selling their handcrafted wares. Holistic Wellness Center, Rockland Trust, Be Charmed, Park Street Books, First Parish UU Church, Berkshire Hathaway, Re/Max District Advantage, Brothers Marketplace and First Baptist Church joined in the fun offering different activities, treats and live music.
The Holiday Stroll in Medfield is a wonderful tradition that gives people a chance to see what local artists have been making all year. This is a perfect chance to buy local gifts for the holidays and entertain children with countless activities and crafts. Medfield will be celebrating the holiday season throughout December.
