For the first time, Cub Scouts from Pack 200 in Medfield won the District Pinewood Derby at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro and four scouts will head to the world championship event in Time Square in New York City on June 25.
Matteo Benson of Pack 200 took first place in the Grand Finale, while fellow scouts Casey Becker and Andrew Bone took third and fourth respectively. Marco Benson also took second in the Webelos event.
Overall, according to an email from Cubmaster Bob Benson, Medfield scouts took five of the top 10 spots. Pack 200’s Paul Zaher finished eighth and Pack 113’s Parker Kilmer took ninth.
Matteo and Marco Benson, Casey Becker and Andrew Boone have advanced to the New York event.
