Medfield’s American Legion Post 110 was recognized by the American Legion Department of Massachusetts for performing “an outstanding Community Service project for the betterment of the community or the people therein.”

District Vice-Commander Fred J. White presented the award to Post 110 at its January meeting. Accepting the award were Post 110 Commander Paul Galofaro, June Doucette-Burr of the Legion Auxiliary, and post member Phil Burr.

June and her husband Phil have provided periodic coffee and refreshments to patients at the West Roxbury Veterans Administration Hospital.

In addition, the Auxiliary, under the direction of Michelle Doucette, provides Christmas gifts to patients at the VA Hospital for themselves and to give to their family members.
