Medfield residents flocked to the gazebo outside the library to watch the Stacey Peasley Band perform on Thursday, August 9. Peasley’s family-friendly style of music had kids bouncing up and down on the warm summer night. The concert was the penultimate show in the Medfield Employers & Merchants Organization (MEMO) 2018 Summer Concert Series, which has brought musicians of all varieties to the Medfield stage. As they have for the duration of the Summer Concert Series, scores of Medfielders enjoyed delicious food from local vendors as they lounged on lawn chairs and blankets, enjoying the tunes.

Some sang, some danced, and some rolled to the music of the Stacey Peasley Band.

Stacey Peasley is a mother of three who has been performing for almost 25 years. Even though the Stacey Peasley Band’s target audience is children, individuals of all ages were in attendance. Jim and Anne Amnott were at the concert with their granddaughter and great-granddaughter. They have been coming to the concerts in Medfield for more than 20 years.

“We used to come here a lot with our grandkids, now we're continuing it with our great-grandkids … They bring a lot of people together and it seems like the little kids love it,” said Jim Amnott as children ran around, danced, and enjoyed lollipops being handed out at one of the booths.

“I was born in this town, so it’s just a lot of great memories,” added his wife, Anne.

Tracey Rezendes, who moved to Medfield only a few years ago, believes that the summer concerts show how strong the community ties are in town.

“It reminds me of why we moved to this town,” said Rezendes, who had brought her two young daughters. “We really wanted that small-town feel, but not too far away from Boston. It’s really nice [that] the community comes together for events like this. You don’t need to come with anybody - you’re going to end up finding friends.”
