The Bellforge Arts Center was honored to host Peter and Brendan Mayer for an unforgettable evening. This renowned father-and-son duo is celebrated for their work with Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band. Peter toured with Buffett for 35 years while also pursuing his solo career, and Brendan, who grew up on tour, co-founded The Floating Collective with fellow Coral Reefer Band kids.

Their performance at Bellforge spanned their entire musical careers, featuring original songs, covers, and Buffett tributes. The event was made possible by the Margaret Stewart Lindsay Foundation, which celebrates live arts and music in honor of Margaret Stewart Lindsay, a beloved teacher and kind-hearted individual. The concert paid tribute to both Margaret and Jimmy Buffett.

Although the event was originally scheduled for an outdoor venue, rain in Medfield necessitated a move to Medfield High School’s auditorium. This change provided a more intimate setting for the large audience, many of whom were lifelong Parrot Heads or fans of Peter Mayer, making the experience even more personal and emotional.

Throughout the show, the Mayers shared anecdotes about Jimmy Buffett, recounting his vibrant personality and lasting legacy. Their performance was infused with the energy and passion Buffett was known for.

For the final part of the show, Jon Fratassio joined the Mayers on stage. A longtime friend and fan, Fratassio contributed to the evening's emotional climax with a rendition of "Faith in Angels," a tribute to Buffett.

The concert was a heartfelt tribute to Jimmy Buffett’s musical contributions and his impact on the careers of musicians like Peter and Brendan Mayer. The Bellforge Arts Center was privileged to host this celebration and honor the legacy of the late, great Jimmy Buffett.
