Congratulations to Medfield’s Blake Middle School Jazz Ensemble, directed by Matthew Kelly, for their Gold-Medal winning performance on May 12, 2026, at MAJE (Massachusetts Association of Jazz Educators) Central Junior District Festival. The festival was held at Trottier Middle School in Southborough and included a clinic immediately following the performance taught by one of the professional adjudicators. Ada Pickering (grade 8) on tenor saxophone received the festival’s MVP award. It has been a truly successful year full of improvement for the Blake Jazz Ensemble because of their hard work, hours of practicing, and dedication to their instrument.
