Medfield's 2020 annual town meeting will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m., outside on Calvin Fisher Field at Medfield High School. A rain date has been set for Monday, June 29, at 6:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19, the Board of Selectmen voted to limit the meeting warrant to budgetary articles only. The quorum has also been reduced from its normal 250 registered voters to 25 registered voters. The meeting will also be streamed on Medfield TV channels (Comcast channel 22 and Verizon channel 45) and website for residents to safely watch from home.
Attendees are encouraged to carefully read through the report of the warrant and bring it with them for the meeting to understand the articles being voted on during this year's meeting.
Safety measures are in place to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Attendees are asked to wear a face mask when checking in, while entering and exiting the field, and any time they leave their seats. Hand sanitizer stations will be available after check-in. After checking in, staff will take attendees to their seats. When the meeting ends, attendees are asked to remain seated as staff will direct people to the exits to ensure social distancing. Those who are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms are asked not to attend in person. Since this year's meeting will be held outside, attendees are also asked to bring sun protection, including a hat and sunscreen.
