On Saturday, June 3rd, Medfield High School graduated their most recent class of seniors, but the real fun doesn’t start until hours after the ceremony. The annual All Night Grad Party (ANGP), thrown by Medfield High School, is a safe place for the seniors to spend their graduation night. The event is held right inside Medfield High School and includes a variety of activities to entertain the seniors.
This year marked the 30th year of this celebration, and with it came a trip down memory lane. The inside of the school was decorated with important events that the class of 2023 experienced, including memories that had been created all the way back to elementary school. Decorated by parents and volunteers, each section of the hallways contained something new to look at and reminisce over. From the student's trips to Plymouth Plantation to spelling bees, prom and their game of Senior Assassins there was no shortage of amazing memories all accompanied by photos of the students at these events.
The event holds a special place in the hearts of Medfield High students and parents. “It's almost like a right of passage,” said Molly Frankel, a parent of a graduating senior and parent volunteer. “With this theme of memories, they’ll get to spend the whole night looking for themselves.”
The parents who volunteer to help set up the decorations put work in throughout the year and take pride in creating a safe place for the students to celebrate. Medfield High School principal Robert Paraga sang the praises of those who help set up the event every year. “The most important thing is the awareness of the amount of work that goes into this from parent volunteers,” he said on the importance of the volunteers. “They are working on it throughout the year and the amount of time they put into the different sections to personalize it for the seniors. They do a really good job at it.”
The Medfield High School All Night Grad Party is a tradition that will live on for a long time, as one final celebration and send-off for many classes to come. The committee is always looking for volunteers of any ability to help out with this amazing event.
