On Saturday, April 14, at 6:45 p.m., Sherborn Conservation Commission will sponsor a sunset walk to hear the wood frogs and peepers singing and visit a vernal pool at the Barber Reservation. Attendees will start at the beautifully restored Barber Barn, where Sherborn Conservation Agent Allary Braitsch will teach about vernal pool creatures and point out egg masses. The group will then visit a vernal pool and listen for the singing of wood frogs and spring peepers. A luminaria trail will light the way back to the parking lot after sunset.
Able-bodied adults and children of all ages are welcome. Attendees are asked to wear waterproof shoes or boots, as the fields can be soggy, and should feel free to bring a small flashlight. No dogs are allowed, as they will disturb the peepers. Attendees may park in the Barber parking lot or along Stevens Lane.
