On September 29, the Town of Dover hosted a Special Town Meeting regarding the MBTA Communities Act. The results of this meeting are in; with 250 voters in favor and 29 in opposition, this vote yield a Yes to adopt the proposed update to the zoning bylaw. This will allow multi-family housing in a specific overlay district location in town to comply with the MBTA Communities Act Requirement (section 3A, of MGL c. 40A).
With this favorable Town Meeting vote, the town of Dover is now able to submit at District Compliance Application to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. This application is due by the end of the year (December 31, 2025) in order for Dover to remain eligible for millions of dollars of annual and one-time state grants.
The Planning Board acknowledges and thanks the voters, volunteers, and staff who contributed to this three-year effort.
