Daniel Métraux will be back teaching ukulele classes in Dover. He will be teaching basic chords and strumming techniques. With only four strings and its small size, the ukulele is an easy instrument to learn. New students are always welcome. New players may bring their own ukuleles or rent one at a local music store with an option to buy later.
Daniel teaches both traditional folk songs and more modern songs. Pete Seeger, Peter Paul & Mary, Elvis, The Beatles, John Denver and Johnny Cash are popular songwriters whose material finds its way into Daniel’s classes; he emails the songs to each student prior to every class.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. at the Caryl Community Center, Room 108, 4 Springdale Avenue, Dover. They begin on September 5 and end on December 12. The cost for the 15 week session is $75.
These classes are offered by the Dover Lifetime Learning Program and sponsored by the Friends of the Dover Council on Aging.
