International Night coming to Chickering

On April 28th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Chickering Elementary School will celebrate it’s annual International Night, an event that began four years ago and has become a tradition in our community. Parents, children, grandparents, friends and Dover residents are all invited to share and celebrate our cultures together.

Last year, 28 countries were represented in this celebration. Families from different countries of origin shared pictures of their ancestors, artifacts from their countries, traditional garb from their country, and typical ethnic food.

Hundreds of children had the opportunity to travel with their “passports” to the different countries that represented their community, to learn about those country’s customs, to play traditional games from each country, and even to try new food.

This celebration is made possible only by the combined efforts of all of the participating families. For more information about this event, contact Sarah Puerini at president@doverpto.org.
