Hauschka to make bees presentation

The Dover Historical Society will present a program on Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. by Peter Hauschka entitled: Bees, Honey and the Important Role of Massachusetts in the History of Beekeeping. The program will be held in the Dover Town Library, Lower Level.

Peter Hauschka is a retired scientist who practices organic beekeeping and organic fruit farming in Needham, MA. He was educated at Amherst College (biophysics) and received a doctorate in biology/biochemistry from The Johns Hopkins University. He taught medical and dental students at Harvard, ran a laboratory at Boston Children's Hospital and authored over 100 research publications in orthopaedics and bone cell biology, cancer metastasis, and stem cells.

Peter volunteers at the Powisset Farm in Dover and offers homemade fruit preserves and organic honey at the Powisset Farm stand. He and his wife, Barbara, have three children and three grandchildren.

All are welcome to attend. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
