Fuel Our Heroes raises awareness, funds

As the COVID-19 pandemic persists in and around Boston, a group of local Dartmouth and Harvard students have joined a national student-run campaign, Fuel Our Heroes, in order to raise awareness and funds for medical professionals who risk their lives on the frontlines each day fighting this virus.

Since the Fuel Our Heroes campaign was founded by students in Los Angeles last month, it has partnered with hospitals in Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, New York City, Nashville, Denver, and Chicago and raised over $130,000. Recently, the team of Jason Zavras of Dover, Nate Pucci of Hopkinton, Owen Searle of Sherborn, Patrick Connor of Arlington, and Ishaan Prasad of Winchester brought the initiative to Boston by partnering with Massachusetts General Hospital.

All of the money raised by the campaign goes directly to essentials, including protective equipment, meal services, and transportation relief, for the courageous healthcare workers at MGH who are in desperate need of assistance. During this time of great hardship, initiatives like Fuel Our Heroes give an opportunity to come together as a community and to provide hope and optimism for ourselves and others.
