DS 8th graders John Bennett, Colin Boland, Willy Bowen, Hakeem Daphnis, Luke Loefflere, Jack Lordi, Ethan Lynch, Jack Potter, Grady Russo and Will Whittlesey are going for MetroWest Youth Basketball’s top prize.

After a third straight 10-win season, the DS 8th grade boys are playing in MetroWest’s Division 1 basketball championship bracket, where they will compete against the very top teams from the largest MetroWest communities, including Brockton, Newton, Brookline and Framingham. This is the first DS youth basketball team that has been included in the Division 1 MetroWest playoffs since the league expanded many years ago; there are now over 1,000 teams. The DS team has been together for the past three years under proud coaches Rob Lordi, Chris Boland and Dominic Russo.

This accomplished group of young athletes is currently ranked #11 out of over 130 eighth grade teams in Metro West, going an unprecedented 20-4 over the past two seasons in winning back-to-back Division 2 regular season titles. They are 34-7 overall, including the 6th grade D3 championship. The future is very bright for the DS High School basketball program.
