On Thursday, November 8, at 6:30 p.m., Peg Dawson, Ed.D., NCSP will share tools and strategies that parents and teachers can use to help "smart but scattered" kids become successful problem solvers and self-reliant adults. She will share the skills that are critical for school and life success, and the role executive skills play in healthy development.
In over 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Dawson has worked with thousands of children who struggle at home and in school; at the center of their struggles are weak executive skills. Dr. Dawson is the author of "Smart but Scattered" and "Smart but Scattered Teens."
Executive function skills are a challenge for many kids today, but these important skills are what help kids manage their time, pay attention, plan and organize, remember details, and even multitask. When executive function isn’t working as it should be, kids have less control over their behavior, which affects their ability to do things independently and maintain relationships.
This event is free and open to the public, and will take place at Charles River School in Dover. Seating is limited and registration is required; visit www.charlesriverschool.org to register.
