Last Thursday Night, the Friends of the Dover Town Library (DTL) hosted their 6th Annual Cheers for Books event: a happy hour to support the library we love, which was presented by the Bohlin Group.
Over 100 people were in attendance at the event, which was held at the American Legion, next door to the library. While over fifty children attended the program by Coach Pete during the event, which was held at the DTL. Children played games outside in the field, then headed into the library to have pizza.
Parents and Dover locals gathered together to raise money for the DTL through this fundraiser. There was a cash bar, live music by DJ Aly, a silent auction, and a raffle. The raffle and silent auction items truly were show stoppers, from gourmet experiences to luxe fitness packages to all inclusive birthday party experiences to signed Red Sox memorabilia. Guests were eager to participate in the raffle and auction to try their hand at winning one of these featured items.
Between the warm weather, cheerful tunes, delicious drinks, and friends around, it was not an event to be missed! The program led by Coach Pete next door allowed for several parents to have a date night, thanks to the Friends of the Dover Town Library.
Funds raised by the Friends of the Dover Town Library throughout the year, including this event, are donated to the Dover Town Library. Donations to the Friends are used to fund 100% of the library’s programming, as well as the museum passes available, and the hospitality items available to library patrons, and help purchase unique items available for checkout.
