On Saturday, May 10, the Friends of the Sherborn Library held their 53rd annual Arts & Crafts Fair on the library lawn and the surrounding grounds. The rain didn’t stop locals from showing up to this favorite local fair.
This annual event, which is eagerly anticipated by families and shoppers from Sherborn and the surrounding towns including Dover, Needham, Millis, Medfield, Hopkinson, Hollistion, and Needham. The fair offers a space for a variety of vendors to showcase their works for sale. This years vendors included artisans who craft knits & textiles, arts & prints, beauty products, candles, books, crafts for children, home decor, jewelry, crystals, woodworking, pet treats, and a variety of foods including fudge, maple syrup, jams, and pickles.
This years entertainment schedule included Sherborn’s Read Aloud, performances by the Dancing Arts Center, the NATyA Dance Collective, DS MS A Capella group, Noteworthy, Golgi Apparatus Band, School of Rock, Lou Lou’s Music Together, and a demonstration by Perez Martial Arts. There was also a silent auction and the fan favorite Friends of the Sherborn Library Plant Sale.
Children enjoyed visiting with the alpacas and goats on site, as well as enjoying the variety of actives offered in the Children’s Area.
Despite the dreary conditions, it was still a fun-filled day with ample opportunities for fun. The event ran from 10am-4pm and there was no shortage of activities to partake in, performances to view, food to eat, and different booths to visit; six hours almost did not seem like it was enough time to truly take in all of the events of the day.
