Westwood Town Clerk’s Office announces important election dates

The Westwood Town Clerk’s office would like to remind residents of the upcoming town election and town meeting.

The Annual Town Election will take place on Tuesday, April 26. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. There are four polling locations in Westwood. Precinct 1 is located at the Westwood Senior Center, 60 Nahatan Street. Precinct 2 votes at the Sheehan School, 549 Pond Street. Precnict 3 votes at the Paul Hanlon School, 790 Gay Street. Precinct 4 votes at the Downey School, 250 Downey Street.

The Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday, May 2 in the Westwood High School auditorium. Check-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. Recognitions begin at 7 p.m. and the business session of the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

The last day register to vote is Wednesday, April 6.

Residents who are not registered voters will not be eligible to vote in the Annual Town Election or on articles presented at the Annual Town Meeting.

The Town Clerk’s office will hold a special registration session on April 6 from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. for those residents who are not registered voters in Westwood.

Residents who have moved from another community must re-register with the Town Clerk either in person, at Westwood Town Hall, 580 High Street, by mail, or online.

The voter registration form may be downloaded by visiting the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office at sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howreg.htm.

Online voter registration can be completed using the Secretary of State’s Office’s online voter registration system by visiting www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/
