Music at the Barn at Adams Farm schedule

If variety is the spice of life, then Friends of Adams Farm, Inc. has just stumbled upon the perfect recipe for summer fun.  Music at the Barn is a carefully curated concert series with each concert having a different theme. Performers are selected based on a specific music genre or musical concept that matches that theme.  In addition to the concerts, Music at the Barn will include three acoustic-style open mic events, a format that is always full of pleasant surprises and hidden gems. The season will culminate with the Adams Farm Fall Day event full of exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy.

July will bring us the “Sweet Harmonies” concert featuring the Doppelgangers, two unrelated singer songwriters with an uncanny resemblance to each other.  The two met at a music camp 10 years ago and have been harmonizing ever since.  This concert will also feature The Ukuladies, a high energy five-piece band that lays Andrews Sisters harmonies on pop songs from the 60’s through today.

In August, the “World Beats” concert will feature two acts with local connections and global influences. Los Gallos Locos, yes that’s right, “the crazy roosters” are three amigos that play Latin and rock classics their own way.  Louie Lou Louis a.k.a. Louis Apollon will bring us his light and breezy blend of folk, jazz, and global music.  Both groups have ties to Berklee College of Music.

The third concert of the season is themed “Big Country” and will take place as part of the annual Adams Farm Fall Day event in early October.  Charles River Rodeo featuring Norwood’s Luke Curran will give us the sweet twang of pedal steel guitar and classic country hits.  Independent country music recording artist Houston Bernard will top the bill.

A series of three acoustic-style open mics will take place in June, July and August and are open to the public.  Anyone interested in performing should email Friends of Adams Farm via their website Adams-Farm.com.

This year’s concert series is sponsored by Walpole Cooperative Bank and Dagher Wealth Management.  The open mic series is sponsored by Positive Grid, a guitar technology company, whose product line includes the Spark family of smart guitar amps/Bluetooth® speakers and wireless guitar systems.

Adams Farm is located at 999 North St., Walpole, MA.  All concerts and open mics will take place from noon to 3:00 pm on the following Saturdays:
