Jones to represent NCS at RI ComicCon

Hometown Weekly cartoonist Tim Jones will be attending this year’s Rhode Island ComicCon, representing the National Cartoonist Society (NCS).  The local cartoonist and Massachusetts native is best known for his self-syndicated comic strip; “SOUR GRAPES.” A whimsical comic strip about “Aesop”, a miserable-flying dog, living in a strange, problematic and troubled world with his odd family and pet cloud, ‘Ominous’.

Jones created SOUR GRAPES in 2014 where it found its way into two Rhode Island newspapers. Today, “Sour Grapes” is printed in over 50 newspapers across the US, including Massachusetts, California, and Texas.  His popularity has even spawned a local soft drink flavor produced by Yacht Club Sodas out of Rhode Island.

Jones can be found at the RI ComicCon in the National Cartoonist Society’s booth as one of their featured cartoonists. The RI ComicCon will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center November 7-9.  The action-packed event will feature a wide variety of vendors, cosplayers, artists, celebrity appearances, and more.  The RI ComicCon is haled as the premier pop culture comic convention in the North East.  Tickets to the event are available at www.ricomiccon.com.
