Last Tuesday, girls’ varsity soccer held their senior night, celebrating seniors Elizabeth George, Emily Hoffman, Ava Kraus, Isabella La Francesca, Kathryn Layden, Samantha Manning, Athena Polechronis, Catherine Rodenhi, Stella Scobbo, and Libby Sinis. After their win, the seniors ran the width of the field toward friends and family holding up blankets dyed with their names. Following that, there was a ceremony where each senior was called forward to be presented with flowers by a teammate and then take a photo with their family, who had come out to see their senior game.
It was certainly a fun game to attend for Medfield fans, with the Warriors (16–1) defeating the Medway Mustangs (10–6–1) 6–0. Their first goal was scored just 11 minutes into the game when senior Libby Sinis took a shot from outside the box, and 15 minutes later, Devon Weafer made an unbelievable long shot through several players. In the final 10 minutes of the half, senior Emily Hoffman dribbled the ball to the endline and made a short cross to fellow senior Elizabeth George, who squeaked it by the goalie.

In their own end, goalie and senior Catherine Rodenhi made a good save near the end of the half when she jumped to tip the ball over the net, keeping the score at 3–0.
Just under ten minutes into the second half, the Warriors had a quick series of goals that turned their respectable lead into something seemingly insurmountable. Sidney Heavey was first, earning the Warriors’ fourth goal, and only minutes later, Warriors’ offense was in front of the net for a corner kick. Medway goalie Emily Dougenik was able to make the original save against La Francesca, but Morganne Kilmer rebounded it for the team’s fifth goal. It was not long after that that Izzy Villavicencio got the ball down to the net, where Sidney Heavey put it away for the sixth and final goal.

Since their game against Medway, the Warriors played and won their final game, ending the year with just one loss, which was against Bishop Fenwick back in September. With a near perfect record, they have placed first in Division 3 and will be in the playoffs, which began this week.
Congratulations to the seniors and good luck to the whole team as they enter the playoffs!
