Senior Night marked another successful outcome for the Warriors. Medfield improved to 16-1 following its 72-24 win over Bellingham.

Seniors Jailen Annigeri and Olivia Whelan were honored pregame and were both in the starting lineup for the Warriors. The duo contributed to the team’s win with a combined 19 points.

“It's always special to be able to celebrate kids that have given so much time to the program and Jailen and Olivia are amazing people on and off the court,” said Head Coach Mark Nickerson. “...the exact type of people [we] want representing [our] program.”

The Warriors continued its dominance on the court by starting off on a 13-0 run. It wasn’t until the 2:42 minute mark that Bellingham was able to put points on the board. Medfield also shot lights out from behind the arc, finishing 6-for-12 in the first quarter.

“The support from not only this team, but my coaches and the town, too, is just amazing. So to finally be a senior and just feel that love and support, it's awesome,” said Annigeri. “[Olivia and I] have played together since fourth grade. We've always been on the same team and we've even played soccer together, so it's been awesome… We've kind of grown up playing sports together.”

The underclassmen gave their fair share of support on the court, as well. Freshman Abby Broderick, junior Izzy Kittredge and sophomore Naya Annigeri all finished the first half with double digit points, en route to a 47-12 lead heading into halftime.

The second half saw the seniors get more playing time while the rest of the bench was able to register minutes. In total, twelve players were successful in scoring.

“I would trust anyone with the ball,” said Annigeri. “I trust anyone taking a shot, bringing the ball up. We have such a deep bench and such a deep team.”

The Warriors followed up their victory with another win on Wednesday versus St. Mary’s High School and played in a four-team tournament against Foxborough. The winner advances to play the winning team in a Bishop Feehan-Wellesley matchup.

“We want to win every time we take the floor, but we want to compete hard,” said Nickerson on the remaining schedule. “We want teams that will compete hard against us and test us and make us have to make adjustments or do things that we're uncomfortable doing and being able to be successful in that is what it takes to be a state champion, so hopefully we'll get that.”
