The 14th annual Make a Statement Day, part of Own Your Peace Week, was held on Thursday, March 28, at Needham High School, in collaboration with Needham Youth & Family Services and the Own Your Peace Group. This year, Make a Statement Day created puzzle pieces as a way to speak out, educate and raise awareness about issues that are important to individuals. Needham Youth & Family Services worked closely with the Own Your Peace Group at NHS and with expressive art therapist Megan Carleton to make this project successful. There was more participation this year than any other year, with more than 800 puzzle pieces displayed.
“It was really amazing to see the final project come together," said Director Sara Shine. "The students and staff all worked so hard to bring it all together, and the success of the collaboration is shown in the mural.”
