Dover-Sherborn’s Erik Linden made history on Saturday afternoon while competing in the New England High School indoor track championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury.

Linden, a senior at DSHS, finished fourth in New England in the one-mile race with a personal record and school record-breaking time of 4:20.62.

Along with his record-setting day at the New England’s on Saturday, Linden has been an absolute force on the track this entire winter season, as well as throughout his stellar career at DSHS. Linden placed second in the entire state in the 1000-meter at All-States on February 24 to originally qualify him for the New England and National tournaments. Linden will enter NYC on March 11 ranked No. 1 in the 1000-meter and No. 6 in the mile.

“Erik is the best distance runner we’ve had in our history,” said DS head indoor track coach Maura Bennett. “I could not be more proud or happier for him. Erik has so much talent and he has made the most of it through hard work and dedication.”

Congratulations to Erik Linden on this tremendous accomplish and best of luck at Nationals in the Big Apple.
