WHS senior collecting gently-used instruments

Westwood High School senior David Han is collecting gently used orchestral or band instruments for WHS’ Senior Independent Project Program (SIPP). The focus of his project, “Old Instrument - New Life,” is to provide donated musical instruments to students in order to increase music learning opportunities in Westwood and the greater Boston area.

Collected instruments will be donated to the Prodigy Program — Westwood’s after-school music lesson program — as well as potentially the Community Music Center of Boston and Boston’s Josiah Quincy Upper School, for students whose lack of access to a musical instrument may otherwise discourage music learning.

Contact David at 20dhan@wpsstudents.org with questions or to arrange an instrument pickup or drop-off. Empty instrument cases are also greatly appreciated. Tax receipts can be provided; if requested, email David. His project is focused on band and orchestral instruments, so recorders and pianos will not be accepted.
