WTP to present ‘Junie B. Jones, Jr’

The Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) is set to present "Junie B. Jones, Jr" on Friday, December 7, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. All performances will take place at the The Sorenson Center at Babson College, located at 19 Babson College Drive, Wellesley. Tickets are priced $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at http://wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door for $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

Adapted from the best-selling book series by Barbara Park, "Junie B. Jones, Jr" follows Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store. This includes Junie's best friend Lucille finding new best friends, Junie B. making friends with the new kid, having trouble reading the blackboard, and getting glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.

"Junie B. Jones, Jr" features two talented casts of over forty students students between the ages of seven and eleven. Cast members of "Junie B. Jones, Jr" reside in Wellesley, as well as neighboring communities including Aburndale, Framingham, Natick, Needham, Waban, Wayland, and Weston

The "Junie B. Jones, Jr" production staff includes: Ben Rush, director and scenic designer; Eric Anderson Jr., music director; Luciana Fionda, choreographer; Seif Cristobal, lighting designer; Megan Pillsbury, costume designer; and Alexa Lambert, stage manager. Book and lyrics are by Marcy Heisler, with music by Zina Goldrich. "Junie B. Jones, Jr" is adapted from the Junie B. Jones Series of books by Barbara Park, and is produced through special arrangements with Musical Theatre International.
